Precision Agronomy Specialists Help Locations Utilize Central Advantage

Ashley and SaganDue to the volume of acres being added every year to the Central Advantage program,Central Valley has been taking steps to expand its precision agriculture team.  Ashley Schmeling joined the Blooming Prairie location two years ago to work with Blooming and Ellendale Central Advantage growers.  Sagan Kelling is the newest addition and was added to the Hayfield location two months ago to work with Hayfield and Austin Central Advantage customers. 

They will be working with the agronomists at these locations to better implement Central Advantage for current growers in the program and for those looking to join. Their main goal is to gain an intimate knowledge of their growers operations and help them make use of the vast amount of technology available in agriculture as it pertains to their growers.   Through data collection, monitor set-up, monitor calibration and writing variable rate recommendations they will work to put all of their customer’s information together in a way that is manageable and that makes sense. Agronomy Notes July 28th 2012

In the last two weeks we received various amounts (0 to 4”) of rainfall in our area with some hail falling in some of the heavy rainfall areas.   If you did receive hail during one of our rain events contact your crop insurance representative. Hail damage at our present stage of plant growth can limit yield up to 50% depending upon severity.
