Central Valley Cooperative Educational Assistance Program
Central Valley Cooperative (CVC) has an Educational Assistance Program as a way for qualifying Patron Members to access their equity in CVC to help fund their dependant children’s education.
Qualifications:
- The student’s parents must be shareholders in good standing with Central Valley Cooperative
- The student must be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary university, technical or business college
- The student must be a full-time student, as defined by the institution they are attending.
- A copy of a transcript is required prior to advancing funds
- Requests for Educational Assistance are due by January 15 and payments will be made during the month of February with our normal equity retirement payments
- Patron must have a minimum revolving fund equity balance of $5,000 per dependant student (as measured at each subsequent advance date) to be eligible for the Educational Assistance Program
Benefits:
- If the previous criteria are met, each student will be eligible to receive up to $500.00 per year maximum
- Student will be eligible for a maximum of four (4) years of educational assistance or a maximum of $2,000.00 during their post-secondary education
- Upon verification of qualifications, an equity check will be made payable to and mailed to the parents of the student
- These are tax paid funds and do not need to be shown as taxable income
The continuation of the Educational Assistance program is subject to the annual review and approval of the CVC Board of Directors. Furthermore, the Board reserves the right to limit the amount rewarded through the program each year and will be administered based on date of application.
